Johnny Damon surprises his MLB fandom by making a shocking political choice

Playing under captain Derek Jeter and besides shortstop Alex Rodriguez, outfielder Johnny Damon wasn’t an A-Rod fan. He once spoke about how A-Rod’s alignment with the Pinstripes tainted their 2009 World Series Championship. Nevertheless, he recently reached his Twitter account to express his affiliation with Donald Trump.

He tweeted saying, “Trump 2024 [USA Flag Emoji].”

Following his four-year tenure with the Red Sox, Damon moved to the Yanks. Ultimately, for the final three years of his career, Damon played with Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay, and finally, the Cleveland Indians. And retired with two World Championships and two All-Star appearances.

Ex-President Donald Trump isn’t a big fan of Alex Rodriguez either

Donald Trump has never been a big fan of Alex Rodriguez. Back in 2014, shortly before opening day, the ex-US President attacked the Yankees’ shortstop-turned-baseman, Alex Rodriguez.

A-Rod vaguely admitted to his steroid usage in 2009. Subsequently, he faced a season-long suspension from the MLB in 2014. However, Trump never let him off easy. Before opening day, and a season that A-Rod didn’t end up playing, Trump tweeted, “A-Rod is a joke.”

Moreover, this wasn’t the first time Trump attacked A-Rod. All in all, there were multiple instances where the shortstop faced Trump’s slack for his association with banned PEDs.
