The hype in Texas is real. The Houston Astros are going up against the Texas Rangers for one of the greatest match-ups of this postseason. Both sides have something to fight for and neither will relent. The Astros, looking to defend their 2022 World Series crown, will be ruthless. Whereas the Rangers, looking to win their first-ever championship in decades of existence, will be hungry for victory. Who wins the massive Texas duel?
Both teams have fought hard to get to this point in October. For most of September, Houston was in trouble, unsure whether a playoff future was in the cards for the year. The Rangers, with the exact 90-72 record as the Astros, missed out on winning the division, but their efforts paid off, nonetheless. Whichever way one looks at it, it will be adrenaline-inducing and hair-raising. Singer and rapper Post Malone is here to hype that feeling.

Born in New York and raised in Texas, what gets more American than that? Post Malone is a tremendous supporter of all things Texas and has now collaborated with MLB on FOX for an ALCS ad. As the visuals begin with slow countryside life, it morphs into baseball. “They say everything is bigger in Texas. Well tonight, it’s about to get even bigger,” says the Rockstar singer. “We’ve got a Texas duel with some bad blood.”

The visuals switch to a benches-clearing fight between the division rivals as Malone continues, “It’s the Stros vs. the Rangers. Dynasty vs. destiny. Dusty vs. Bochy.” The rapper goes on to describe how this is the first time the Rangers are back in the ALCS after 2011, their last World Series attempt. Now that they’re back, they’re eager for a win. But then there’s Houston.
In their seventh straight ALCS, it’s not the Astros’ first rodeo. After the stained 2017 success, 2022 was an enormous triumph with Dusty Baker leading the charge. But Bruce Bochy will not be left behind either. While H-Town has been victorious in each of their meetings, what will the ultimate match-up look like? As Malone said, “So saddle up, it’s going to be a Lone Star showdown.”
