Naturally, the question arose, “You played the shortstop position, which player inspired you the most?” The youngster replied, “I think my favorite player is definitely Francisco Lindor. He is a very charismatic person and he is, he loves the game, you know.” Nimmala also alluded to Lindor’s nickname, which has earned him a reputation around the league.
“He is called Mr. Smile for a reason and not only how he plays on the field but how he is off the field and what kind of person he is, is something I really look, look up to,” the Blue Jays prospect told EssentiallySports.

The rising star also expressed his admiration for Lindor’s work ethic, which has seen the Mets shortstop win two Gold Glove awards and one Platinum Glove award in his career. Interestingly, Nimmala has also received comparisons to his favorite player. Both have a strong arm, move well, and have solid skills for playing defensively.
However, when it comes to hitting, Nimmala is more similar to Alfonso Soriano. Soriano was well known as a home run hitter during his 12 seasons in MLB. Analysts predict if the Indian-American youngster comes even close to the Dominican star, a successful career would not be hard to achieve.
