However, one player was watching these twists and turns taking place from afar while anticipating his return to the ballpark. That player is none other than the shortstop of the San Diego Padres, Fernando Tatis Jr.

After his suspension from the big leagues for the regular season, he has been preparing for his comeback. While awaiting his return on the diamond, he is also looking out at a new update by Nintendo.

ComicBook.com recently updated its fans on Twitter that, a new Mario Baseball game is in the works. Tatis Jr, being who he is also awaiting the game to come.

He let people know about it by liking the tweet of the Comic Book. By doing so, he showed that no matter how people play the game, he would still be a great baseball fan. It seems like the only thing other than playing professional baseball again is Mario’s baseball game.

Even though the shortstop has not played the game professionally for over a year, it looks like he might have played the game virtually. The slugger’s return to the diamond is still more than two months away. But that is still not going to keep him from playing the game outside the ballpark.

When is Tatis Jr set to return to the field?

The star shortstop of the Padres had gotten himself banned from the league for 80 games in August last year. By that time, less than 80 games of his team were left in the regular season. Therefore, to complete his ban, before returning, he will have to miss approximately 20 games of the regular season.

However, he has already been made eligible to appear in the spring training, which is now less than a month away. But he’s also told to stay away from the team once the regular season commences on March 30, 2023.
