Emotional Father-Son Moment Brings Lifelong LA Angels Fan to Watch Baseball Wonder Shohei Ohtani for the Last Time

Nothing beats passion more than baseball. The Los Angeles Angels, a fairly recent team by MLB standards, have gathered a loyal fan following. Especially given the fact that superstar Shohei Ohtani is on the roster. But unfortunately, this may be the last year that fans get to see the Japanese sensation in red and white.

Ohtani has been racking up a storm with his two-way skills in the league this year, leaving ballparks with lifetime memories. And to commemorate what is almost certainly his last year with the Angels, an LA fan decided to dedicate a game at Angel Stadium to his father in a sweet gesture.

A Son’s Extraordinary Present For His Father

Instagram user @chifftie recently posted a video of how he made sure his dad got the royal treatment in Anaheim. The father had been an ardent fan of the Angels and used to watch the game live up until a few years ago. As the story goes, his father would visit the stadium to watch the Angels games when his own father was alive. But since his passing, there had been no one for him to share the joy of the game with. Or so he thought.

@Brwalkoff re-posted a reel on Instagram showing how the son made his father’s big day a memorable one. The son bought tickets for his entire family so that they would be by his father’s side throughout the game. After a whole lot of saving and planning, the moment had finally come.

The father walked wide-eyed into the suite wearing a Trout jersey, all set. He could not contain his joy, as the son points out, “like a kid in a candy store.”

As a die-hard Angels fan, it was a dream come true to watch the game as a VIP from the box suite. More so because Shohei Ohtani, a star pitcher and hitter, might be moving on to accept a 500mn contract from another team. Watching him possibly the last time in his favorite team’s jersey is nothing short of an iconic moment.

An Emotional Ride For a Shohei Ohtani Fan

Sho-time’s potential last season with the Angels comes as more emotional than expected. This father-son moment adds a tinge of bitter-sweet to this whole game overall. “Success!”, the son exclaims as his father profoundly expresses how happy he is throughout the game. Bouts of child-like excitement and tears were proof that his son had done a great job at making this surprise work out.
