The off-season has been a short but a surprise package for many. Multiple deals have taken place, and many new possibilities have emerged, taking the hype to the next level. One such possibility is that Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette moves to the Chicago Cubs. Though two years are left in his contract, the Jays still want to trade Bichette with a future in mind.
Notably, the Blue Jays had a decent season but a disappointing end. The 1993 World Series champions lost the wild card battle to move out of the playoffs. They are planning changes to correct things, including sending their shortstop away. However, the Cubs are already stacked up with players in Bo’s starting position. Thus, what could be the reason for this deal going through?

Baseball is a sport of limited opportunities. Because of this, no player wants to leave a chance to give their best. But sometimes, not everything is under control, and adjustments are to be made. This seems to be the case with Bo Bichette, who seems to be losing out on his shortstop position at the Jays but also at the Cubs.

MLB broadcaster Jon Morosi shared his thoughts on the trade possibility between Chicago and Toronto. He said as the Cubs are preparing for the future, having almost lost Cody Bellinger to free agency, signing Bo Bichette can help in this buildup.
Morosi added that the Cubs may use their prospects for the trade, including the Canadian Owen Caissie, making a win-win situation for both teams. It will also cover the additional cost. But for all this to go through, Bichette and the Cubs have to agree on a position shift to third base. But will the 2x AL hit leader agree to this?
Will Bichette Agree to the Potential Change?
Notably, the 25-year-old has only played as a shortstop during his baseball career. Due to this, Bichette has made the shortstop position his own. But when it comes to the returns, they have not been the best.
Though he improved upon stats from the last season with fewer errors, the decrease in range factor and the stagnant number of double plays have been the negatives. Due to this, there have been doubts about his future with the Jays as a shortstop. This puts Bichette in a complicated situation.
