Barry Bonds would probably be called anything but easy on the field. He used to impose his dominance on the entire game. However, he even got the title of being the easiest person to pitch from one of the greatest MLB pitchers of all time. Of course, calling the Home Run King an easy person to pitch requires guts, and who can be a better person to do so than a former rival who faced him more than 100 times?

Greg Maddux is undoubtedly one of the most renowned contemporary pitchers of Bonds’ time. They have faced each other multiple times, and while sharing his experience a few years back, the titles this legend gave to the Home Run King may shock and amuse the fans.

Greg Maddux Shared His Experience To Pitch Bonds

Bonds was one of the greatest hitters in MLB history, with some of the greatest recorded in his possession. Though his drug scandal has dimmed his glory a little bit, his contemporary players admit his talent without any hesitation.

Greg Maddux did the same when he sat for an interview a few years back and asked about his experience with Bonds. The legends mentioned, “he was the easiest guy in the world to pitch to because if it mattered you just walked him.”

So, according to the former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, he only needs to throw to the catcher outside of the strike zone, and all set.

You got to get 27 outs, and you got to know where they are. They’re not going to be with him. Greg Maddux vs. Barry Bonds- Face-Off Fights

Bonds and Maddux have faced each other several times, starting from their baseball journey. Both these legends began together in 1986, and the first game they faced each other in 1897. The pitch from the pitcher and Bonds sent it out of the stadium. throughout his 22 years of MLB career, this pitcher had faced the 14x All-Star the most. They have met in 157 games, and Maddux strikes him out 16 times. It is probably the second highest after John Smoltz. He had the highest strike-out record with Bonds.

However, The Professor cleared his views on Bonds in the interview. Though the Controversial legend has 9 Home Runs and a .265 Batting average against him with a .376 OBP, he still respects the opponent’s skill and talent.
