On Friday, a total of nine teammates of the New York Yankees reached one-year agreements, including Nestor Cortes. The left-handed player, who has been a part of the team since 2013, was able to avoid arbitration. According to foxsports.com, the deal that was reached between Cortes and the team is for a total of $3.2 million, which solidified Cortes’s pitcher role in the upcoming 2023 season.

Cortes’ salary in the 2022 season was $727,000. It seems like the Yankees ace was able to bounce back this year, pulling off a $3.2 million deal. Which is a significant increase from his previous salary – proof of his hard work and his improved performance on the ballpark. And now when the Yanks have secured Cortes’ stay in the Bronx for another year, his teammate could not control applauding Cortes.
