After playing in Major League Baseball for two decades, life completely changed for Captain Clutch Derek Jeter. Ever since he hung up his cleats back in 2014, he hasn’t made any effort for a comeback. But little did the fans know, the iconic shortstop always contemplated it. At the time, he also didn’t know how he’d make a comeback. But that changed a few years later.
Now, a month into 2023, Mr. November finally made a comeback. Not in the ballpark, but in the video game ‘MLB The Show’ series. He showed up on the cover of a limited edition video game, ‘MLB The Show 2023,’ which was revealed during his appearance on the Tonight’s Show with Jimmy Fallon. Wanting to like everything about the exclusive cover of the game, Jeter could not help but notice one thing he didn’t like and wished it would be different.

A person came from Major League Baseball’s headquarters to deliver a copy of the collector’s edition in hand to the Captain himself. Jeter took the copy in his hand, gave it a stern look, and called it nice, followed by the only issue he had with the cover.
While making a dour face, the five-time world series champion said, “This is nice! My forearms could be a little bigger, though.”

Six years later, to make the game a little better, with help, Jeter bought stakes in the MLB franchise, Miami Marlins. His stint with the Marlins didn’t last long, but baseball never left him. Even during his short tenure with the Marlins, he hadn’t once picked up a baseball until the Yanks called him back to the stadium for tribute night in 2022.
He might have stopped playing baseball in 2014, but baseball hasn’t and probably will never leave him. He’ll forever stay as one of the best shortstops in MLB history. Do you agree with this? Let us know in the comments below!
