The Los Angeles Angels are finally ready to part ways with their star player, Mike Trout. The slugger has not done too well this season, and after suffering a left hamate fracture on July 3, he’s been out for the season. Trout has been in LA for over a decade, loyally staying by their side even as the team keeps losing. But they’ve shockingly declared that the 3x AL MVP is free to go should he want to leave.
Trout’s accomplishments speak for themselves, even if he has not tasted World Series success yet. A lone player does not make a team, and even with the 11x All-Star, the Halos have only been to the playoffs once. Many blame LA for ruining his prime years, and now that they’re releasing him, even the desperate Bronx won’t have a place for him.
New York Yankees Fans Remove the Bronx from Mike Trout Contention

The New York Yankees haven’t fared much better than the Angels this season, with at least half their roster on the injured list. The 32-year-old Mike Trout could do some damage in New York if he stayed healthy enough, but that is if the New Jersey native ever makes it there. From the 12-year, $426 million contract that the slugger signed with LA in 2019, seven years and more than $248 million remain. X user Jonny’s Lasagna stated why Trout shouldn’t come to the Bronx even if he gets the chance.
So Yankees fans want the worst training staff and medical staff in the league to take on injury prone Mike Trout whose body is falling apart more and more every year? Did I get that right?

In addition to the lack of roster changes, another point of contention between the Yankees’ front office and fans is their staff. Be it trainers or medical personnel, the Pinstripes are unable to give the best to their players. Just look at the Anthony Volpe chicken parm incident.
Going back to 2013, the Yankees actually wanted Trout for themselves but the Angels got there first. “We thought we had a really good shot because there aren’t many people who are really into … the area he’s from and all that,” said the Yankees’ director of scouting, Damon Oppenheimer. “That changes history, doesn’t it?”

Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees, instead, chose the West Coast. Could this unexpected Angels news finally see Mike Trout away from the team? One thing is certain, the Bronx doesn’t want him anymore.Even as Desperate As They Are, Yankees Fans Don’t Want Trout
The highest-paid player in the league has never been to the World Series and it’s a tragedy. It’s not as if the Yankees cannot pay the remaining amount on his contract. But fans think Trout is too injury-prone to do any good in Pinstripes, and that he would be more of a liability than an asset.
There is 0 way anyone wants that contract and him on this team. Dude can’t stay healthy. We all bitch about Stanton’s contract and not being healthy, y’all want TWO players like that? I’ll pass

One referenced Jasson Dominguez, who is on the IL after playing in just 7 MLB games.
Just look at what they did to Dominguez after 7 games. Lol.

One fan referenced other veterans who had failed to stay healthy with the Yankees, despite the promise they posed.
Sounds like catfishing for Trout
you already got Stanton, Frankie Montas, Rodon, you had Bader.

One even compared Trout to Shohei Ohtani, who is facing an injury despite his immense two-way talent.
Terrible idea. Same with Ohtani. Yankees keep going after injury prone players and have 0 track record of fixing it. They think they've cracked the code on injuries, but clearly they haven't. That strategy keeps failing them. Time to try something else.

One thought everyone on the Yankees staff should just be let go.

It’s certainly a tricky situation because no one can predict the future. While Trout holds promise, he also holds risk. Ten years later, do the Yankees still want him?
