When the moments are tense and a fierce battle is going on in the diamond, there should be some fun moments added to balance the stress. One of the perfect examples of the same would be the MLB franchise New York Mets’ pitcher, Drew Smith. He once again turned heads after sharing a moment with a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model.
Just like last year, the Yankees’ cross-town rivals, the Mets, called upon three SI swimsuit models to throw the ceremonial pitch. And Mets’ ace, 29-year-old Drew Smith, became a fan favorite once again after sharing a moment with one of the three models.

Last year, in celebration of the 2022 SI Swimsuit issue release, the Mets called upon models Brooks Nader, Cindy Kimberly, and Yumi Nu to throw the ceremonial pitch. However, something unusual happened after the game. The Mets’ official Twitter handle reported the three models throwing the pitch. As a result, Mets’ ace Smith took his shot at one of the models by reposting Mets’ tweet by writing, “See you at another game this year @wolfiecindy ?” It was only moments after that Smith created a lot of buzz than anyone could have expected. Mets fans not only got amazed, but in their way, tried to help out Drew get his shot with Kimberly.
And this year, when the Mets called another three models to throw the ceremonial pitch, one of the catchers was none other than the flirtatious Drew Smith. However, the models weren’t the same as last year. This year, Brooks Nader, Christen Harper, and Camille Kostek threw their pitches to Drew Smith, Tylor Megill, and Eduardo Escobar.

As soon as the clip of the models throwing out the ceremonial pitch and hugging the three athletes went on Twitter, it once again created the buzz as last year.
The Mets ace sure has some good fandom!
It’s been only a few years since Drew made his MLB debut. However, the star has already rooted down his presence in the team by throwing a combined no-hitter last year. Things soon went up for the ace off the field, too. Fans started saying so many good things about Smith, only to make his case better with Cindy.
And it happened once again. Here’s how the fans are reacting to Smith being the catcher of one of the SI models.
Ain’t no way drew Smith was gonna miss out on another model. 😂.
