Alex Rodriguez’s Success Mantra: Slowing Down to Speed Up

The former MLB superstar-turned-entrepreneur-and-sports analyst, A-Rod, is known for being adamant about managing his personal time. For Rodriguez, fitness has always been a cornerstone of his professional journey and his secret to being a 14-time All-Star. In the latest story of A-Rod’s Instagram, reading “Don’t forget to slow down once in a while,” A-Rod is seen standing under a tree posing with Gen-Z energy. 

In an interview with GQ early last month, Alex Rodriguez allowed a sneak peek into his fitness routine. He said, “So my team knows that they have me from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., but 8 a.m. to noon is my time. I use it to lift, do cardio like spin, yoga – you name it. If I’m not working out, I’ll use that time to do recovery like being in the sauna or meditating.

A-Rod is the epitome of self care. As an investor and CEO of his real estate venture, he says that the best investment one can make is in oneself – selfcare. He shares an important part of his personality, which exemplifies the man he is today, “I’m consistent with everything”. Post retirement era has been nothing short of a revelation for A-Rod, because in baseball, “you’re basically a slave to your career”.

The Other Side Of Being A Successful Baseballer 

While he was an active player, he missed being able to take vacations with his family and travel. Considering the level of commitment required to make it to the top in baseball, one needs to give up on quite a lot. He once said, “And because of our sports, I didn’t get a chance to travel internationally.

The ex-Yankee’s current retirement period allows him more freedom and space compared to his baseball heydays, allowing him to evidently slow down during his holidays and taking his yearly Europe trips that he couldn’t take for years.
