According to a source, taking a dig at Rodriguez in 2012, Trump said, “I don’t think he’s an asset, I think he’s a liability to the Yankees. They’re paying him $30 million a year, and he strikes out every time he comes up in a playoff game.”

Moreover, Trump pointed out at Rodriguez’s intake of drugs. As per Trump, without drugs, Rodriguez is, in fact, a less-than-average player. So Trump would have fired if he had the chance to do so. Trump even mentioned that if George Steinbrenner was still alive, he would have already fired Rodriguez.?

Rodriguez’s MLB career began with the Seattle Mariners in 1994. Moving ahead, he joined the Texas Rangers and later, obviously the most famous association of his, the Yankees. Remarkably, he became a 14-time All-Star player and even won the World Series with the Yankees in 2009. Rodriguez thus concluded his MLB career in 2014, with 696 home runs and 3115 hits, with a 0.295 average.?
