The 2023 season could have been better for the New York Yankees ace Domingo German. The 31- year- old still needs to live up to the expectations. Though in some instances he outshined the rest, his inconsistency and suspension have hindered it in the long run. With four losses in the last five games; he has been under much pressure. And his recent actions off the field have added more to his misery.

German was part of the Yankees rotation and was crucial for the team’s season hopes. But it changed after the Yankees put him on the restricted list, bringing a premature end to his MLB season. Though there was no clarity over his omission, the latest report has answered all the queries.

Ups and downs have filled German’s entire 2023 MLB season. The pitcher, who was very much in the Yankees’ plans, has lost his place in the team because of his uncontrolled clubhouse outburst. It has forced the team to move him out into the minors while they fight for the playoffs.

Talkin’ Yanks shared this shocking news on Twitter, quoting WSJ reporter Lindsey Adler. It read, “ Domingo German had arguments with Aaron Boone and teammates during Tuesday’s incident. He flipped a couch, smashed a TV, and made jokes while teammate Ron Marinaccio packed his bags for Triple-A. They made him go in a sauna to try and sweat out the alcohol.”

The Yankees Librarian, Joe Randazzo, added to the details, “The next afternoon, Germán arrived at the ballpark and appeared intoxicated, according to multiple people who interacted with him that afternoon. He entered the clubhouse and argued with teammates. He flipped at least one couch while teammates and staff tried to get him to calm down.”

It added another episode of controversy to the pitcher’s life. More surprisingly, it has come after he had a record-breaking game last month.

German’s Season Ends in a Disappointment

It has been a disappointing season for the right-hand pitcher. In 20 games, German remained expensive with an ERA of 4.56. Though he claimed 114 strikeouts at a WHIP of 1.077, it was not enough to improve his win-loss record, which stands at 5-7.

As they have destined him for Rehab, less possibility is there for him to add anything positive about it.
