The switch-hitting dynamo showcased his versatility by filling in at both center field and shortstop. His postseason was particularly remarkable, as he drove in 11 runs in the National League Championship Series. The terms of the new contract include a $17 million signing bonus. A sixth-year club option is also available for $13 million with a $3 million buyout. That gives the Dodgers flexibility beyond 2029.

Additionally, sources say about one-third of the contract’s value is deferred, providing financial flexibility for both player and team. Edman’s extension is a key piece in the Dodgers’ continued quest for championships. His blend of defense, hitting, and competitiveness make him a catch for the Dodgers’ future. With this new deal, it’s clear he’s just getting started in LA.
