Los Angeles Dodgers’ Korean star, Hyeseong Kim, is making all the right noise now! The South Korean infielder working on swing change has caught the attention of the Dodgers’ coach, Aaron Bates, putting him into surprise. The main reason? Kim has been working to improve his upper and lower body movements in order to improve his hitting in the forthcoming season. Well, that’s quite impressive, isn’t it?

Hyeseong Kim signed with the Dodgers in January, and in his eight years with the Korea Baseball Organization, he had an average of.300 in every season, with 37 home runs across his 953 games. Kim even hit 11 home runs in 2024, which was the highest in his career, and now, with the focus on making swing transformations, the Dodgers would look to get the best out of him.

Dodgers star’s change in swing surprises the coach the most

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Hyeseong Kim on January 20, 2024, for a three-year, $12.5 million contract, and his ability to play both at second base and as a shortstop makes the deal worthy. However, Jeeho Yoo on February 17 shared a post on his X handle stating what the Dodgers’ coach Aaron Bates said about Kim’s batting power. “We’ve been making some adjustments. For him to make them that quickly, it’s really impressive. It’s supposed to feel a little awkward sometimes. But he’s been great the whole time. He’s all in, and he’s been really impressive in that sense.” Based on what he said, Bates believes Kim has been adjusting to the change in swing fairly well, but there is still room for improvement.

Bates claims that Hyeseong Kim has excellent bat-to-bat skills; he simply needs to refine them. To do so, Kim must alter his swing while maintaining a clear mental focus on his actions. Sounds legit, isn’t it? Well, as for Kim, he confirms being in the transitional phases and is willing to improve his swing rather than just hitting with more power. As Kim works on his bat path direction, coach Aaron Bates is optimistic that he will improve over time and eventually be able to use the swing change effectively in various game situations. However, Kim’s addition to the team has definitely made fans a lot happier, as it seems!

Dodgers’ Korean Star makes fans go gaga over him

Ever since the Los Angeles Dodgers signed the Korean star Hyeseong Kim, fans just cannot keep calm anymore. While the 26-year-old baseball infielder’s public appearance quickly caught the attention of many, as they easily recognized him and sent their wishes for the new season, Kim feels honored with the love he has been getting from them. Kim is keen to make it to the mound in Dodgers blue and make a significant mark in the upcoming games. But that’s not all!

Hyeseong Kim made his KBO debut in 2017 at just 18 years old, leaving a lasting impact there with his impressive. 304 batting average, 37 home runs, and 386 RBIs. He even fetched four KBO Golden Glove awards, which shows his mettle and how he can provide a major boost to the Dodgers lineup as well. Kim’s addition to the team as a middle infielder makes a lot of sense; however, the Dodgers would like to head into the 2025 season with Mookie Betts playing as shortstop and pushing Gavin Lux to second base.
