Alex Rodriguez ruined his MLB career when he got involved with PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs). But despite that, he will remain one of the best to grace the ballparks with his presence.
Dating back to 2014, when Major League Baseball banned Alex after finding him guilty of using PEDs, the former Yankee tried everything in his capacity to escape the ban. However, all of his efforts were for nothing, as they all went in vain.

When MLB finally banned A-Rod for the entire 2014 season, the then-Yankees slugger was probably the most devastated person. Things got more serious when A-Rod forced himself and watched a Yankees game without him.

Notably, facing a ban is probably the worst thing for any athlete, and Alex Rodriguez was no different. Even though he was the only one to blame for his mistake, A-Rod did everything to escape the ban and play the 2014 MLB season. Because he was at the peak of his career at that time.

Per Sports Illustrated, when A-Rod saw his team playing without him, he cried and was suffering from the inside. That was the moment A-Rod realized he messed up his illustrious career with a mistake in his younger days.
“I was sitting there crying. It was torture,” Alex Rodriguez said. “It was like being a masochist. I was broken, dead, tapping out, thinking crazy things.”

Having played for over 23 years of baseball, A-Rod would have been in the same company as Derek Jeter, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and a few more Yankees, if not for the PEDs-induced ban.
Later, in 2015, Alex Rodriguez made a statement comeback. He smacked 33 home runs in his comeback season. However, it was not enough to cover up his mistakes. A year later, in 2016, the Yankees star bid farewell to the game.
