The New York Yankees may finally be out of dire straits. Injuries have plagued the team all season long, with seemingly more players on the IL than on the field. Coupled with slumps almost disabling the team’s offense, 2023 has been hard, to say the least. Just as it seemed like the team could not rely on the veterans, the front office decided to promote the promising farm system to the majors. And even Alex Rodriguez is impressed.

The former Yankees slugger played for twenty-two MLB seasons, a majority of them in New York. While his time there was overshadowed by controversy, A-Rod also saw his greatest success in the Bronx. And it seems the new generation has left him equally awed as he once did with the Bronx during his own career.

The Pinstripers have been on a roll ever since they played against the Houston Astros. Sweeping the team for the first time since 2013, the reigning World Series champs were left tasting the dust. And it was in part credited to the Baby Bombers – Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells in particular.

While Anthony Volpe has been a huge part of the conversation in New York, the rookie has suffered and succeeded in equal measure. Now that his MiLB friend, catcher Wells, and the Martian have joined him on the field, the team may stand a chance of making the postseason just yet. And cheering them on from the sidelines is none other than Alex Rodriguez.

The former shortstop posted a story to his Instagram yesterday, watching TV with his feet up on the table. “Watching little @yankees baseball..” read the caption. And wouldn’t you know it, the Yankees defeated the Tigers 4-3. The club has already won two series in a row and with the Detroit team’s defeat, they could make a comeback. But can the team’s last rally take them to the playoffs?

The chances of making it to October are slim, to say the least. The Yankees’ season has seen some ups and downs but they have steadily occupied the bottom of the AL East for the last several months. But Jasson Dominguez seems to have revived hope. It’s an immense responsibility to hold, especially for the youngest Bomber the league has ever seen.

But the 20-Year-Old is confident in his skills. In his first five games, he already has three home runs and is keeping up his reputation of being out of this world. Interestingly, the team has won each of those five games consecutively, a season high. Instead of 11, they’re now 6 ½ behind for an AL Wild Card spot. Aaron Judge is back to his usual form too, and even Giancarlo Stanton seems to be heating up.
