It was supposed to be the romance of the century. Or at least the last few decades. When Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez started dating, fans of both megastars were happy. Rodriguez had just retired from baseball after a mostly successful 22-season career. Although the end of his career petered out with a long suspension due to his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal, many were still interested in his personal life. And since it involved a global superstar like J-Lo, everyone wanted to know more.

The couple dated for two years before the former Yankee proposed to her; then they remained fiancees for two more years before finally breaking up in 2021. Among the numerous reasons that fans speculated about, one was that Rodriguez had cheated on the singer. Not only that, but rumors of an NDA swirled too, which some still debate.

If one has not come across the term NDA in legal dramas, they are legal documents that one party makes the other sign to keep something confidential. And according to Shep Rose, Madison LeCroy’s co-star from Southern Charm, A-Rod made her sign one. Both parties have long since denied allegations of being a couple but Rose believed otherwise.

In a discussion with the notorious celebrity interviewer Andy Cohen, Rose spoke of an incident that took place during an episode filmed on Caper’s Island. “She said on camera, there’s camera’s buzzing around, we’re on a boat and she’s like, ‘Well, I’m DMing with A-Rod, but we can’t talk about that’ or ‘they can’t air this because I signed an NDA’ and that’s the first I heard of it,” the actor said.

Rose then continued, “And I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ My eyes almost popped out of my head.” Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live! is popular for weeding out celebrity secrets that may or may not turn out to be true. And since nothing has ever been confirmed, it’s anyone’s guess whether Rose spoke the truth.
