Despite Their Fairytale Romance, Jennifer Lopez Revealed Why She and Alex Rodriguez Couldn’t Be Together When They First Met 17 Years Ago

One of the many relationships of the baseball legend Alex Rodriguez that is still making headlines after ending was with the megastar, Jennifer Lopez. Ever since they both met up in early 2017, they started dating soon after.  

In an interview with Vanity Fair, shortly after their ‘fairytale’ romance took off, the actress talked about what her relationship would be like had the two met years ago. Their relationship created more than enough buzz in the sports and entertainment industry from the moment they got spotted together.

Would Jennifer Lopez and Alex’s relationship have been sustained if they met earlier?

Talking about if her relationship with Alex had been sustained had they met each other earlier than they did, she didn’t think the relationship would have survived. 

“We had to grow and discover ourselves first,” Jennifer said. 

The couple was not afraid to dream and certainly wanted to live with each other. But they knew that they needed to have grown up before getting into a relationship. And that’s what the famous couple did.

Jennifer and Alex met each other for the first time in May 2005 at a New York Yankees game. At the time, the actress was still married to singer Marc Anthony. While the baseball player himself was married to his now ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.

They rekindled their relationship when they met again in 2017, both single, and got into a relationship soon after.

Another thing that Alex is most known for is that he had never spoken ill about anyone he has dated. For JLo, he was head over heels as it appeared to everybody on his socials.

The couple parted ways last year in April, and the reason behind this is best known to them only. But JLo did say that they were much better as friends. And that it was time to grow into another phase of life. The actress is now married to her former beau, actor Ben Affleck.
