The Texas Rangers had no option other than winning to stay put in the ALCS. In a close competition against the Houston Astros, the Rangers proved how capable they are when it comes to delivering a stance in the diamond. And even though, the Astros tried conquering the scoreboard through Bryan Abreu’s fearless performance. Alas! It wasn’t enough to turn the tables and Rangers secured a much-needed lifeline.

In fact, Mitch Garver’s homer in the second inning was closely followed by Adolis Garcia’s tempestuous grand slam in the eighth—one that silenced every Astros fan who was busy booing the Rangers. In a post-game interview with MLB maestros Jeter, Ortiz, and A-Rod, Garver discussed what this clinch meant for the exacted Game 7 and made a truly bizarre comment on the Lone Star team’s form throughout the series.

Mitch Garver hinted that his team’s performance might have been unexpected for the audience, stating: “Even though we kind of led the division the whole year, I felt like we were underdogs.” Legendary rivals and Hall of Famer strikers are enough to make one come to that point, but does the past agree with it?

The Texas Rangers have had really good form up until Saturday’s Game 5, which Garver called a “Gut Punch”, until they hit back today and tied the lead at 3-3. “They do a good job here in making us feel uncomfortable… It’s a good rivalry,” the pitcher hinted toward his rivals when asked whether he got used to the fans’ cheers throughout their ’23 ALCS history of wins.

Undoubtedly though, the Rangers really rose to the occasion today, as Mitch said. But they didn’t have the same drive going on before, despite their stellar performances. What exactly happened to their form between Games 5 and 6?

The Texas Rangers’ transformation and resurgence

“In the fashion that you lost – is there someone on your team that had to step up?” This was the ultimate question on the minds of fans and experts alike. Derek Jeter requested Mitch Garver to guide him through the Rangers’ Game 5 form post-performance. Garver quipped right back with the reasons behind his beliefs that they have jumped back, and for the better, this time.

“I think we took it as another game. We have some really good leaders in that clubhouse… All these guys, you know, they’re going about their day in a normal way. And I think that resonated with some of the younger players.” Now that they have won the sixth and forced the final game into existence, how will the Texas Rangers act about it?

A similar question was asked to the 32-year-old and he said, “The best thing we can do is treat it like another game… We can’t let the stage get too big.” Well, it looks like the plan has worked in their favor, to take one game at a time. Now, all eyes are set on the next big showdown and who will eventually come out victorious.
