The New York Yankees. are struggling, making them desperate for a change. The team has reached a new low, adding another unlikable record to its history. With nine straight losses, they are now 10.5 games behind the playoffs spot, looking unlikely to make it to the playoffs. Due to this, fans have lost patience and are asking for GM Brian Cashman’s replacement. During this course, they have also identified Derek Jeter as the potential replacement. But Jeter’s Miami Marlins past could become a roadblock in such a situation.

Joining the team as a CEO in 2017 and having worked with them till 2022, Jeter held a minority stake in the Miami Marlins. It was a mixed-match tenure for the five-time World Series champion, probably putting him on the list of players who could not repeat on-field success in the front office. The latest reports of him damaging the soul of the Marlins added more negatives to it. But the unaffected Yankees fans have agreed with the thought of him being the next Yanks GM.

Derek Jeter retired in the 2014 season. After a break of baseball activity, he joined the Miami Marlins in 2017. Apart from handling team operations, Jeter authorized changes to the Marlins stadium during that time. Though he oversaw them as they materialized, he failed to transform them to the liking of others. It includes former Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria.

While in an interview with Miami Herald, Loria described changes made by Jeter as destruction, “Jeter came in and destroyed the ballpark. Destroying public art was a horrible thing to do.” She recalled the destruction of $2.5 million artwork, which lit upon every Marlins celebration, “Now it will rot outside where it is… condemned to neglect and outdoor decay.”

Given that Marlins suggests its relationship to the Marine life, they had artifacts to solidify the same. But Jeter altered it, leaving Loria unhappy, “They covered up all the [colorful] tiles, which we brought in from Europe. To me, it reflected the culture of Miami. Now it’s all blue. It’s ridiculous”

The accusations of unlikable changes from Jeter have put whether Jeter can put in better work for the other team. Well, the Yankees fans think so. It came after Paul from BabbleSportsTV asked fans, “Would you rather have Derek Jeter or Theo Epstein as the next GM for the New York Yankees?

The Bronx Faithful were aware of the unmistakable answer, evident in their comments on the post.
