MLB legend Derek Jeter recently shared the exciting news of his son’s birth, Kaius Green Jeter. Although Jeter has retired from baseball, he may feel bittersweet because his children won’t have the chance to see him play in his famous Yankees pinstripes. The former shortstop has always wanted his kids to have a normal life, so he’s kept them away from his baseball legacy. There is a new tradition, however, Jeter would want his kids to follow.

This past weekend, together with his younger sister, Sharlee Jeter, Derek hosted the Turn 2 Foundation’s Invitational Gala. Notably, the gala was a successful event where Jeter expressed how he wants to keep on following a Yankee Stadium tradition with his wife and kids and also why he is eager to get started with it with his son. 

What tradition does Derek Jeter want to follow with his family?

Last year, the New York Yankees organization called upon the MLB great Derek Jeter back to the Yankee Stadium. They did so to perfectly honor Captain Clutch for his Hall of Fame induction. Notably, Jeter accepted the invitation and made a grand entry with all his three daughters.  Jeter seemingly had a great time hearing his name chants all over Yankee Stadium. He also had a great moment when he got clicked with his wife and three girls beside him. The  5x World Champ has the same picture as the wallpaper on his phone.

Months later, on the last day of the Invitational Gala, Jeter showcased to the interviewer, his wallpaper. He further spoke of the tradition he would want to continue. Showing his wallpaper to the interviewer, Jeter said, “We’re gonna try to do it every year to see them grow throughout the years. So, we gotta get back up there soon.” 

Remarkably, if there is someone more excited to see the picture of Jeter’s family of six are his lifelong fans who long for a peek into his personal life.

Whether it was getting married or the birth of his three daughters, Derek Jeter refrained from announcing it publicly. The birth of his son, however, has seemingly changed the former shortstop. Taking to Instagram, Jeter announced the birth of his newborn to the world.
