Derek Jeter is one of the greatest competitors in baseball history. Fans will always remember him for his commitment to winning. Jeter’s main goal was always winning trophies and by extension, winning as many games as possible. He and Alex Rodriguez were often compared to each other.

As two of the biggest stars of their generation, fans and experts would compare their play styles and achievements. Furthermore, there seemed to be a silent rivalry going on between them, even when they were teammates. But Jeter was once able to get a victory over Rodriguez while off the field.

Over the years, Derek Jeter has bought and sold some really nice properties. But in 2012, he made the headlines when he sold his Trump World Tower apartment. He had been trying to sell the place for a while and must have been extremely happy to finally find a buyer. But the sale would’ve felt even sweeter as he managed to sell his apartment while Rodriguez was struggling to sell a mansion.

According to TMZ, Jeter “unloaded his NYC condo for a cool $15.5 mil”. But A-Rod was struggling “to dump his $38 million Miami mansion”. Jeter originally listed the apartment at $20 million. But after failing to find a buyer, he brought down the price and closed the sale for $15.5 million.

A-Rod, on the other hand, was struggling to sell his property despite it being much bigger. So Jeter must have felt extra happy when his sale went through. Furthermore, the Yankee’s legendary shortstop was even able to make a profit, having bought the condo for $12.6 million. But people wondered why Jeter sold the apartment. 

Jeter wanted a place that was easier to maintain

Derek Jeter sold his Trump Tower apartment because he was looking for a smaller place. He wanted an apartment in New York that was easy to maintain. Furthermore, the Yankee star only wanted to keep hold of his mansion in Tampa.
