Once upon a time, the New York Mets used to be a powerful franchise, with Starling Marte leading the league with his stats. In 2023, it’s one devastating blow after another for the struggling team. One of the season’s most disappointing performances comes from the above-mentioned two-time MLB All-Star, who is in his second season in New York.

The $76 million Marte has struggled to produce numbers this season. The team and fans are still hoping to see a repeat performance from last year and for Marte to stand up to his name. While his hitting techniques usually work against any opponent, yesterday was tough. One fan thought to scream instructions from the stands, eliciting mixed responses from the crowd.

With the highest payroll of the 30 MLB clubs, the Mets have stunned baseball lovers with their dismal display. One gentleman left a home plate seat in the middle of a recent game, completely fed up. Yesterday’s game was no less frustrating. Although the Brewers are 2nd in the NL Central, the Mets had a few chances to turn the game around for themselves yesterday. But of course, they lost 3-2.

Watching Marte make one swing after another and missing on each of them was too much for a spectator in the stands. In a clip shared by Jomboy Media, she can be seen passionately yelling at Marte. One can assume she mouths the words, “Don’t swing at everything.” Of course, Marte did the opposite, because that is his usual strategy.

This sport expects hit-and-miss, but seeing when the batter is needed at the game’s most crucial moments is disheartening. Marte’s few homers here and there need more to satisfy them.

Baseball fans want to replace Buck Showalter once again

Managers and the front office rarely get along well with baseball fans, and Buck Showalter is no different. Now, fans want the Mets to replace him with a female fan or at least employ her as a hitting coach. To most, it may come off as a fun joke, but to the fans, it’s their favorite team going underwater right in front of their eyes.

One mocked the team’s billionaire owner Steve Cohen, who has been criticized before for trying to solve problems with banknotes.

Some openly mocked the team, while one came to Marte’s defense.

Showalter has expressed trust in his outfielder before, saying it might take some time, but Marte will most certainly reproduce his 2022 performance. Fans are hoping it happens sooner rather than later.
