During his rookie year with the New York Yankees, MLB legend Derek Jeter started the Turn 2 Foundation to motivate the youth toward healthy lifestyles. In 2010, Captain Clutch handed over the foundation’s gears to his younger sister, Sharlee Jeter. Since then, the younger Jeter has worked tirelessly to motivate the youth to turn away from drugs and alcohol to a healthy life.

While working at the foundation, Sharlee has also supported various other causes. And when doing so, she has attended various events. Most recently, she attended a lavish event featuring the iconic tennis legend Billie Jean King.

Knowing Jeter and her work, she will continue to support other foundations for the youth to have a better chance at life. Sharlee took the foundation’s reigns into her hands in 2010, but she has been involved with its work ever since her elder brother incepted it in 1996.

How has the Turn 2 Foundation worked under Sharlee Jeter’s leadership?

Before winning the American League’s Rookie of the Year in 1996, five times world series winning champ, Derek Jeter realized that he wanted to bring change into society. The aim was to help the youth rise above negative influences and lead healthy lifestyles. Since Jeter had just started his MLB career, his father, Dr. Sanderson Charles Jeter, at the time, gave up his practice to help him grow the foundation. He held the duties until Sharlee Jeter was capable of handling it all on its own.
