Whatever the reason, then maybe for Jeter to cheer for the Yankees, in the end, it turned out all good. Not only did the shortstop used to root for the Pinstripes, but he also made his one and only aim to become a Yankee come true.
Having played his entire career in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees, the shortstop Derek Jeter won many titles. One of those includes him being the winner of not one but five World Series Rings. His last championship ring was not only his but the team’s last World Series win in 2009. The alleged playboy once sat for an interview for Playboy magazine and revealed the actual reason behind his rooting for the Yanks.
To win a competition, Derek Jeter became a fan of the Yankees
The Captain Derek Jeter has a deep connection with New Jersey, for it is the place where he was born. But also because, as a kid, he used to spend his summers there with all his cousins. And it was his grandmother, who was a Yankee fan and turned him in the same direction.
But the actual reason for rooting for the Yanks was something entirely different. “My dad liked the Tigers. Since we competed in everything, I couldn?t root for the same team he did,”?said the shortstop.

Out of spite or not, eventually, it turned out in the best way possible. Therefore, in a way his father kept him from rooting for the team he actually liked. His father also used to play baseball in his college days and was also a shortstop. Jeter’s love for the game started from within his family.?

Eventually, it led to him getting instated in the Hall of Fame. For the twenty years that he spent playing baseball, he had a huge fan following. Also had the media on his side as well. And the Captain’s title gained over the years is ‘Mr. Clean.’
