After a 20-year-long career marked by exceptional achievements, tenacity, competitiveness, and tireless effort, the BBWAA elected Derek Jeter into the Hall of Fame in 2020 with an impressive record majority of 99.75%. Now, three years following Jeter’s induction, his former teammate and rival Alex Rodriguez?once again failed to secure a spot in Cooperstown, while eight-time Golden Glove winner Scott Rolen has been honored with a 76.3% majority vote and as a result, an entry into the glorious MLB Hall of Fame.
Former third baseman Scott Rolen made his MLB debut in 1996 with the Philadelphia Phillies. For 17 seasons following his MLB debut, and playing for the Cardinals, Blue Jays, and Reds, Rolen retired with a World Championship Ring, seven All-Star appearances, eight Golden Globe Awards, and an entry into the Cardinals Hall of Fame. Now, Rollen has another Hall of Fame entry to brag about.
However, Alex Rodriguez, who retired in 2016, is yet to find his way into the Hall of Fame, especially given the Writer’s tendency of inclining away from people associated with steroids.

A special greeting from Derek Jeter:
However, that didn’t stop the former New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter, who won five World Championships with the Yanks from joining the celebrations and warm greetings to third baseman Scott Rolen.
Congratulations Scott! Welcome to Cooperstown. https://t.co/XDKWOjDw9z

Jeter reached his Twitter handle, adding a congratulatory message for Scott Rolen’s entry into the Hall of Fame. Jeter said, “Congratulations Scott! Welcome to Cooperstown.”
Following Scott Rolen in the 2023 Ballots was Todd Helton, with 72.2% votes. Jeff Kent, in his final year of ballots, also registered only 46.5% of votes, while A-Rod, stood under Kent with 139 votes, 35.7%.
But do fans want A-Rod?
Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter have a storied history. Both began their careers around the same time, but took vastly different paths. A-Rod quickly became a superstar known for his incredible hitting ability, but his reputation took a hit when his use of steroids was revealed. In contrast, Jeter built his reputation through hard work and dedication, embodying the spirit of New York while on the field. Today, one shortstop is in the Hall of Fame, while the other is not. This is how fans reacted to A-Rod’s miss, and Rolen’s entry into the Hall of Fame.
Wow, can honestly say I've never heard of him.
