Major League Baseball has produced thousands of great players in its history. But some of them came as one of a kind. Captain Clutch Derek Jeter is undoubtedly one of those who stood out. Ever since the former shortstop started playing baseball, the one thing he never lacked was confidence. Sure enough, he passed this quality off of him to his daughters.

After hanging up his cleats back in 2014, he started to focus on having a family. Three years later, in 2017, he, with his wife, Hannah Jeter, welcomed their first kid, Bella Raine Jeter. Being a kid of two former sports players, Derek put his kids into tennis practice. Little did he know that shortly after that, she’d be as confident as her father.

Derek Jeter recently made an appearance on Tonight’s show starring Jimmy Fallon. Aside from talking about his nice cover of the video game ‘MLB The Show 2023,” the two of them spoke about Jeter’s kids being interested in either softball or baseball. Then, the former shortstop recounted a minor incident where his eldest daughter started showing signs of being full of confidence.

On one of the days when the MLB icon was taking his daughter to tennis practice, he randomly asked her if she was ready to go for practice. Begrudgingly, she said“I don’t want to go.” Accepting his daughter’s wish, when Jeter asked for the reason, she reverted, “Dad, I already know how to play.” Which then prompted the Captain to say on the show, “She is not lacking in confidence when it comes to sports.”

Listening to her daughter’s answer on why she didn’t want to go must have made the Hall of Famer laugh out loud. But the father in him would have also been proud of how confident his girl was at such a young age.

How was Derek Jeter’s daughter at playing?

According to the former shortstop, when his daughter first started playing, she was exceptionally good at it. But only for the first fifteen minutes. After that, it was going and drawing in the clay. But instead of shouting at her, he used to calmly tell her that she needed to focus. However, how it went after that is still yet to be known.
