The epic rivalry between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, has to be the greatest in sports. And who better than Derek Jeter to tell about the same? The Yankees and Red Sox have been rivals for over a hundred years now.
But this rivalry peaked during the 90s and 2000s. Both teams were equally good against each other. However, recently, something interesting happened that even questioned Jeter’s loyalty to the Pinstripes.

But no matter what, someone like Jeter, who captained the team for a long time, would always be a loyal Yankee. Earlier this season, when the Yankees clashed with the Red Sox, there was a new Jeter in the ballpark. And for the first time, someone named Jeter played for the Red Sox.
Derek Jeter had the best answer to defend his praise of the Red Sox star
When Sean Gregory of Time.com, recently, asked Jeter how did he feel after watching someone named after himself hit a home run against the Yankees, the former Yankees captain had the best answer.
When Gregory asked whether Derek Jeter was happy to watch the Red Sox rookie hit a home run, Jeter simply asked, “Who won?” Notably, the Yankees won that game by a huge margin.
The interviewer replied, “The Yankees won, 13-2.” And Jeter had Gregory on his own question. “Oh, well there you have it. Good for him,” the former Yankee added.
Jeter even congratulated the Red Sox rookie, Jeter Downs, for his outstanding play, but with a twist. He wished him the best unless he is playing against the Pinstripes.

However, unlike the Red Sox, The Bronx Bombers are most likely to win their division and play the postseason games this year.
