The holiday season is officially here. Everyone in the States is enjoying and celebrating it with their families, including the sporting stars from the MLB world. The same is visible in the Thanksgiving celebrations from Pete Alonso to Blake Snell to Alex Rodriguez, who have chosen different ways to mark the day. However, five-time World Series champion Derek Jeter stands as an exception from this group due of his unique approach for “the best time of the year”.

Notably, the former Yankees captain has been a private man. Although it’s been almost a decade since he last played an MLB game, the baseball legend is still conservative about his life. However, in a rare moment, Jeter recently opened up and shared some insights into his way of celebrating Thanksgiving and other holidays, equating it with his role as a father.

The life has changed for the modern MLB star Derek Jeter since his retirement. Now, it revolves around his wife and four children. Notably, Jeter spends his time with his family at home, as revealed by him during a conversation with Colin Cowherd. However, given that, the season of holidays is here. Is there any change to his approach?

Well, Captain Clutch himself has answered this question. During the conversation with People.com, the father of four shared, “We like to do things together as a family, but we move in a pack now. It’s a lot of people to move around at one time.” He added Thanksgiving will also be celebrated at home, which “is always better since you want the kids to wake up at home.”

The approach showed a sacrifice Jeter had to make as a father. However, he is all ready to make more such sacrifices, even if it means leaving baseball behind for the better future of his children.
