Derek Jeter Kicks Off His Invitational Exciting Bahamas Golf Tourney With a Classy Move

Derek Jeter and the Turn 2 Foundation have raised millions of dollars to help the youth in their community. The New York Yankees’ legendary shortstop established the foundation in 1996, the year of his rookie season. Since then he has hosted many events and raised millions. Most recently, Jeter kicked off his Foundation’s marquee event in the best fashion.

He and the Turn 2 Foundation have been hyping the Derek Jeter Invitational for weeks. With star performers and some acting talent on the guest list, the event has been building up for weeks. Jeter finally kicked it off recently, with his own swing.

For the second year in a row, Derek Jeter is hosting the Derek Jeter Invitational at the Baha Mar Resort. Although there are multiple events and attractions, the main event is a celebrity golf tournament. The aim is to earn money that will go towards Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation. Most recently, the Yankees legend kicked off the highly anticipated golf contest. The Foundation shared an Instagram Story showing Jeter taking the first swing.

In the story, they said, “@derekjeter getting the tournament started at @royalbluegolf”. The golf tournament will feature numerous celebrities and former athletes participating. Last year, the event contributed more than $1 million to Jeter’s Foundation. This edition is expected to garner a similar amount, if not more.

The Yankees legend has hosted multiple golf tournaments in the past in different places. But the Invitational is one of the biggest and most grand, with a loaded guest list. Furthermore, it is all about giving back to the community and helping the youth develop into leaders. Last year, Jeter spoke after the invitational and talked about the impact of the event and the donations received.

What did Jeter say about the impact of his celebrity invitational golf tournament?

Last year was the first Celebrity Invitational hosted at the Baha Mar Resort. Following the success of the 2022 event, according to MLB Jeter said, “The support we received from this year’s event will enable Turn 2 to provide more young people with opportunities to excel in their academics, lead healthy lifestyles, ignite positive change in their communities and develop into future leaders”.
