Some (intended to be) subtle messages are received loud and clear. Since the time Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter have started appearing together on FOX Sports MLB, the camaraderie between the two is doing the rounds. This particular time, one comment from the 5X World Series champion sparked a moment of uneasiness among his peers.

Some talk about their age-old friction while some talk of rekindled friendship. But as they spoke on the panel jovially The Captain chose not to participate dissing the Manhattan-born. While one may wonder why, he answered that without mincing words.

@MLBONFOX tweeted a recent fun-to-watch clip acknowledging the “official felt hat season in Texas”. The Fox News panelists included A-Rod, Jeter, David Oritz, and Kevin Burkhardt when Oritz surprised everyone with an unexpected gift – cowboy hats. As the other three wore it without question, the 49-year-old scrutinized the hat suspiciously and chose not to wear it. Call him a party pooper, but something he said was loud and clear, “New Yorkers don’t wear these. New Yorkers don’t do this.“ Ironically enough, the Manhattan-born did.

It is not to be forgotten that the 48-year-old, former Yankee shortstop is a New York-born himself. As someone who actually hails from New York showed no reluctance in wearing a Texan hat. While Mr. November who is actually from New Jersey did. Though completely unrelated, it is something to speculate about, did he mean the New York Yankees

This takes one back to the stories of their heyday where the two had quite a topsy-turvy relationship. On the other hand, in a recent incident though, the two of them came together forgetting their past atrocities.

An Instance of Rekindled Friendship

Alex Rodriguez shared a story on Instagram before the Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers game of an adorable photo he took with Reggie Jackson. Legend Reggie was standing on one end, A-Rod on the other, and Derek Jeter in the center at Minute Maid Park, grinning broadly.

A-Rod used to get advice from Mr. October while the former would play in the Bronx, and ‘The Captain’ would usually joke around with Reggie. Years later, the three enjoyed the best reunion possible, a lovely fan moment indeed to share as former teammates.

This is proof that despite their shaky past, the Bronx Brothers share a friendship that’s not one to undermine. It could be that Jeter’s non-participation in the Texas hat moment meant nothing or something. Either way, they have a great time covering post-season news on Fox Sports.
