He may have left Michigan physically, but he still had the state somewhere inside him. The shortstop took classes at the University of Michigan in the fall semester of 1992.

The baseball star was once at crossroads on whether he should leave Michigan to go to New York. But it was his college baseball coach who helped him and guided him toward being a Yankee. Memories must have resurfaced as the shortstop came back to the University recently.

Why did Derek Jeter return to his former university?

Jeter’s university has a football team called Michigan Wolverines. They had a game last night against the Michigan State Spartans in their hometown Ann Arbor. The shortstop did not come alone and brought his wife, supermodel Hannah Jeter with him.

With their amazing performance and a bit of Jeter-luck, the University of Michigan’s football team won last night by 29-7. The former Yankee got clicked with his lady love and also with the team’s punt returner, number 26, Jake Thaw.

While Hannah and Derek posed for the camera, Jeter’s picture with Thaw seemed like a candid one, where they were talking about something.
