Deion Sanders, acclaimed for his phenomenal successes in football and baseball, doesn’t seem to go away from the sports scene even long after his active playing days are over. Named the only athlete to have played in a Super Bowl and a World Series, the legacy of Sanders is one of versatility and flair. Though he retired from active Major League Baseball in 2001, Sanders still keeps a close eye on the sport.
This year, his focus has shifted to Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz, a youngster possessing the same mix of flair and showmanship that came to define Sanders in his playing days. Seeing this, Sanders shared his excitement for De La Cruz’s game and his presence on the field as it pertains to what makes him one of the more compelling players going today. Sanders’ tingly endorsement lays on a thick coat of notability with De La Cruz’s budding career, mirroring all the buzz around the young star.
