Derek Jeter consistently played some winning baseball during his career while winning 5 World Series titles. But Babe Ruth was the star player on 7 World Series-winning teams during his career. Most recently, baseball content creators the Bat Boys asked athletes and celebrities who the most famous Yankees were.
Days after Jeter trumped Alex Rodriguez in a popularity contest, he lost out to Ruth, with many people picking the two-way legend. The Bat Boys shared a video from CC Sabathia’s celebrity softball game.

Despite being Jeter’s former teammate, Sabathia himself picked Ruth over the legendary shortstop overall. But he did shout out the former captain as this generation’s most famous Yankee.
NBA veteran Rudy Gay also picked Ruth while shouting out Jeter. Sabathia’s co-podcast host Ryan Ruocco listed a number of Yankee icons such as Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra before also picking the two-way legend.
Rapper Bun B named Babe as well, before lauding the former captain in Jeter for similarly consistent play over a long period. These stars and celebrities picked Babe Ruth overall while citing Jeter as a popular influence today.
Ruth Trumps Jeter in Terms of Numbers as Well

It is very hard to compare Babe Ruth and Derek Jeter. Although the two were both superstars, they had very different personalities. While Ruth got into trouble, Jeter maintained a clean image.
In terms of their play, the two-way icon smashed 714 home runs compared to the legendary shortstop’s 260. Furthermore, Ruth beat Jeter in RBIs and runs scored as well with his 2214 RBIs and 2174 compared to the latter’s 1311 RBIs and 1923 runs.
This isn’t even talking about the 7-time World Series winner’s pitching stats, which were also superb.
