When allowed to reflect the same, they opened up, including the former Yankees’ star David Wells, who showed his raw side on 2023 Old Timers’ Day.

The veteran had his thoughts on the miserable 2023 season. Wells opened up the many changed chapters and pointed them as reasons behind the team’s failure. He also showed anger with the changed Pinstripes, with a stand against Nike. It proved 2x World Series champion’s love for his former team and its glory. Because of this, he does not like anything that brings negative to the team. Wells showed the same while reacting to the latest report of Alex Rodriguez and the Biogenesis saga that affected the Yankees. He justified his thoughts while bringing uncommon comparisons.

David Wells Had an Interesting Take On Snitching Accusations on Alex Rodriguez

The former Yankees veteran has been vocal about the team’s season lately, conveying that message in his conversation with the media. During an episode of Foul Territory, apart from this, he also answered questions related to the off-field issues, including his understanding of the case involving Alex Rodriguez.

Although both Well and Rodriguez have not played together as teammates, they have played many times as competitors. Hence, they understood each other, but when it comes to the personality of his counterpart, Wells is not a big fan of it. It was visible in his answer while reacting to the snitching accusations of the former Yankees’ third baseman.

The former pitcher said, “That’s not good. That will come back to bite you when he asks tenfold, and that’s why I say nobody likes a rat.” While criticizing Rodriguez, he added, “You don’t come out and just start ratting guys out right out of the get-go. A lot of guys go to prison and never say a word and they get a lot of respect.”

His answer was very raw, showing his true side as a former baseball player. The same side made him share true thoughts on the failed approach from the Yankees.

Wells Advised New York to Get Back to Its Feared Past

The New York Yankees have been a team of rules. But in the last decade, they have changed their organization, amending rules. And David Wells is not very proud of those changes. He compared it with the past, which made the Yankees a successful and feared team. It includes giving a lot of time to the nonperforming players. Wells blamed them for the poor performance of the team.
