Love him or hate him—you cannot ignore Juan Soto’s skills at bats! Ever since the New York Mets snatched him from their archrival, the Yankees, the Dominican superstar has been making headlines. The Mets signed Soto for a hefty fifteen-year, $765 million contract, which is the biggest deal in MLB history. And now, the president of baseball operations for the Mets has heaped praise on him, not just for his performance but for something else as well. Guess what might be?

Well, Juan Soto is one of the youngest and best hitters currently in baseball. He had a terrific record in 2024, as he managed to post a .288/.419/.569 slash line, scoring 41 home runs and 109 RBIs, and was ranked second in terms of the walks he made with 129. One of his best performances came on October 19, when Soto posted three home runs in the tenth inning during game five of the 2024 American League Championship Series, leading the Yankees to 5-2 over the Cleveland Guardians.

However, David Stearns has praised him for the way Juan Soto has shaped the culture of the Mets’ clubhouse. During the New York Mets’ spring training on March 24, sports commentator Daniel Murphy asked Stearns about what impression he has of him, pointing out Soto’s routine and his uniqueness. Responding to the question on SNY TV, Stearns replied, “It really is impressive, and you touched on like the routine is; what is so unique about this guy? And we see it with all eight players doing the same thing. Don’t worry, he’s got such a disciplined, detail-oriented routine that he knows he can anchor to whether he’s going good or gone bad.

David Stearns believes that Juan Soto is very disciplined, and he loves to focus on details. This helps him to identify the areas that are going well and also the areas where they need to work. Stearns even mentioned that Soto likes to take things seriously and credibly does things. He continued, “It’s a great example for everyone in our clubhouse, and it’s been a lot of fun watching him; this camp prepares for a season and the intensity with which he prepares.” According to him, Soto hasn’t taken any pitches off, although he does not need six weeks of spring training, as he seems ready to hit and make it count whenever needed.

So, it’s definitely a good thing that Juan Soto’s presence has been transforming the culture of the Mets, making everyone on the team more disciplined and focused on their goals properly. However, amid the praise, Juan Soto has made a surprising revelation about leaving the Yankees. Guess what might be the reason?

Mets superstar Juan Soto makes a shocking revelation about his Yankees’ exit

Ever since the 26-year-old Dominican superstar joined the New York Mets, a lot of rumors have been flying in the air. The reason? Well, many speculated Soto’s return to the Yankees, as he led them to the World Series, but that didn’t happen ultimately. Even during an interview, Soto said, “The Yankees were number one, from day one,” indicating that the Yankees were always his first option. Then what made him change his mind? Is it the huge amount that the Mets were providing him or something else?

Maybe not! Given that the New York Yankees also offered him a similar amount of around $760 million. The difference in amount between what the Mets and Yankees offered was too much less, and it definitely couldn’t be the only reason for his departure. “I know the Yankees are going to be good for the next five or six years. We don’t know after that,” Soto was quoted saying. It indicates that rather than the money, Soto was more concerned about the future of the Yankees. And that might be the reason why Juan Soto has chosen the Mets over the Yankees as his perfect landing spot.
