After an extremely long American League Division Series between the Yankees and Guardians came to an end, the Astros found their competitor in the New York Yankees. The Yankees, who stand as the second most deserving team in the AL, reached their rightful destination next to the Astros. Analogous to that, former Boston Red Sox baseman David Ortiz continues to maintain his Yankee rivalry.

David Ortiz warns the Yankees
While the Yankees took on Cleveland Guardians in the ultimate decider game of the Division Series at the Bronx, the bleachers found themselves filled with the chant, “We want Houston!”

David Ortiz, while responding to the fan chants at Yankee Stadium, mocked the Yankees’ recent past in the postseason against the Astros. And added a fair warning. He said, “Be careful what you wish for… I think the Yankees have a new daddy. The Houston Astros.”
Notably, David Ortiz’s statement didn’t age well for the Yanks. The New York Yankees lost the first ALCS game to Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. That being said, with six games still to go, the Yanks will look towards nullifying the home series advantage for the Astros by trying to bag an away victory.
The Red Sox – Yankees rivalry
New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox, is a matchup that goes down in history as one of the greatest rivalries of all time. It was filled with competitiveness and on-field aggressiveness.
Notably, this rivalry was born in 1919, when Harry Frazee sold star player Babe Ruth to the Pinstripes. This transfer was followed by an 86-year-long period where the Red Sox didn’t win a single World Series. And this led to the birth of the “Curse of the Bambino,” which stands as one of the greatest elements of this rivalry.

Out of their 2,320 meetings, the Yanks have a significant lead with 1,257 victories. However, in the recent past, especially in the postseason, the Red Sox have maintained an upper hand.
