There are almost no players that have achieved what Shohei Ohtani is currently pulling off. The Angels? superstar has almost single-handedly carried the team to second place in the NL West. Most recently, Red Sox legend David Ortiz marveled at Ohtani?s play. He said it would be hard to explain other than by saying that he had David Ortiz and Pedro Martinez in one body. The Hall of Famer was truly in awe of the Sho-time?s mind-boggling play.

MLB insider Hector Gomez shared the Red Sox legend?s comments via Twitter. According to Gomez, Ortiz said, ?What Shohei Ohtani is doing is not only too difficult, it’s impossible to do, it’s like having Pedro Martinez and David Ortiz in one body, I can’t understand what planet that guy is from?.?

This is truly big praise from Ortiz as he compares Ohtani to himself and his legendary teammate. The Angels star has been on a roll as of late and has overcome some slumps to regain his top batting form. Furthermore, he has also beaten some bad pitching form in the mid-stages of the season.?

Ohtani has overtaken his competition?

Over the last 10 days or so, Shohei Ohtani has overtaken his competition. He took the lead for home runs in the MLB while also pitching well. This has added to his already great 2023 season. Furthermore, with Aaron Judge injured for the unforeseeable future, Ohtani can take the lead in the 2023 MVP race. Many experts have him as one of the frontrunners as he continues his fantastic two-way form.
