Derek Jeter returned to his role as MLB analyst for the All-Star weekend. It is one of the special events that he had signed up to appear as an analyst with FOX Sports. He once again teamed up with Alex Rodriguez and ?Big Papi? David Ortiz. But during the coverage, Ortiz played a little prank while trying to get rid of A-Rod and Jeter.?

This has become somewhat of a tradition among these three in the broadcasts they have done together. During the MLB London Series, he pranked Jeter with a nasty gift to upset him. But this latest move may have taken it too far.?

David Ortiz unleashed Yankee repellant on Derek Jeter and A-Rod

There is a lot of mutual respect between Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and David Ortiz. This has led to some funny moments and playful jokes between the three legends. Most recently, Big Papi brought out Yankee repellant during All-Star game coverage. He seemingly wanted to get rid of A-Rod and Jeter using the can of the repellant. He said that he was tired of these guys while referring to the two Yankees legends. FOX Sports: MLB shared a video of the incident on Twitter as Ortiz sprays the icons with his trusty repellant.?

In a Tweet, FOX Sports: MLB said, ?That’s it, @davidortiz is tired of being on set with these Yankees ??. Despite his best efforts, the Red Sox legend was unable to rid himself of his two former rivals. In fact, his repellant seemed to have no effect on either Jeter or Rodriguez. But he did also spray Juan Soto, who was also present, with the repellant as well. This may be a hint that he has a future with the Yankees, either via trade or free agency. Soto will be on the market after the 2024 season and is projected to get a $500 million contract.

The FOX team was treated to a nail-biting All-Star game as the National League ended a 10-year streak of losing. Furthermore, Jeter was able to enjoy his time at the All-Star game from a different angle.?

Jeter will be back for the postseason

Barring any surprise appearances, Derek Jeter will now return for the postseason. That will be a massive change for the legendary shortstop as he will experience the playoffs from a different perspective. He has experienced it as a player, CEO, and even a fan. But now Jeter will see the playoffs through the lens of an analyst. Let us hope that the Yankees give him something to look forward to. It will be interesting to see if David Ortiz cooks up more pranks for the playoffs when Jeter returns.?
