The ongoing MLB offseason can be tough for many baseball fans, as watching their favorite player go to some other team is never the best sight. And in such cases, where a certain player goes to a team that is against his fans’ wish can be brutal at times. Something similar happened with the 2021 World Series champion and the former Atlanta Braves’ shortstop, who became a free agent this off-season.

Having got a better deal from the Chicago Cubs, ex-Braves’ shortstop Dansby Swanson moved into yet another new phase of his life. When he came to say goodbye to the Braves team and fans, things did not go well with him. Baseball fans brutally berated him for signing a $177 million deal with the Cubs.
Will Dansby Swanson ever play in the postseason with the Chicago Cubs?
While there were a couple of people who wished the best for Swanson, the majority of baseball fans left merciless comments with their rage and fury. They not only questioned his loyalty to the Braves but also wished him luck to be spending time with his family during the playoffs season.
Bought and paid for … enjoy never playing in October again!

You want to be a Cub then be a Cub. Get lost.

I thought if anybody would stay in Atlanta because he loved Atlanta it would be Dansby… I was wrong .. there is no loyalty and if the price is right they will all leave.

Move on. You’re a Cub now and won’t be winning any titles any time soon

We will miss you terribly. Couldn’t have gone to a better team (other than the Braves). The Cubbies are my second favorite. Good luck young man and so looking forward to watching you play.

Following the 2022 season, the Braves offered Swanson a $100 million deal for six years. After he rejected that offer, the Braves did not make any other offer.

Opting for money over loyalty to the Braves is one of the things that the baseball fans said about Swanson. Now it is time for a new journey for Swanson with his new wife in Chicago.
Swanson in the 2022 MLB season:
A homegrown star for the Braves, Swanson, who led the Braves to the 2021 World Series, was named the all-star player for the first time this year as a reserve. He also hit his career’s 100th home run against the New York Mets’ ace Jacob deGrom. In addition, he was the only player in Major League Baseball to start all 162 games and also won his first Golden Glove.
