As per @dannyburke5?s tweet, sources close to Ohtani and the Cubs management, have revealed that Chicago is not hesitating to spend money this season. They are on to do whatever it takes. The odds are in favor of the Cubs as per the tweet that Yu Darvish is on to endorsing the idea of playing the National League next year.?

The Cubs currently have the best package to offer and with that comes a little over 50% chance of signing him. With this legendary Japanese pitcher trying to sell the 2013 debutant on Chicago, the Cubs might have an upper hand. When it comes from one Japanese friend to another, it is hardly ever tactical. That said, is there a chance that the 29-year-old might lean toward the opportunity to the ?Windy city???

Not only did Darvish try and convince the Oshu-born, but also the latter finds a cushioned spot in the North Side, thanks to his other Japanese friend, Seiya Suzuki of the Cubs. The fact that both of them played in the World Baseball Classic makes it easier for Suzuki to recruit him to the Cubs. He stated, “I’ve invited him,” in reference to Ohtani joining the Cubs. Nightengale spoke with several executives at this week’s MLB General Managers Meetings in Scottsdale, Arizona. He continued, apart from the Los Angeles Dodgers, “The Chicago Cubs and Rangers are serious contenders, with several GMs saying that the Cubs may be the most aggressive team for his services“.??
