Jazz Chisholm Jr. is giving back to the community. The Miami Marlins youngster has been a force to be reckoned with in the league ever since his debut. Making the cover of MLB The Show in 2023 alongside Derek Jeter sealed the deal because this year’s edition forayed into the Negro Leagues for the first time. And never one to take anything for granted, Chisholm is an equal philanthropic.
Even before he made his big league debut, the second baseman assisted the Marlins’ efforts to provide relief to those affected by Hurricane Dorian in 2019. Now, he wants to aid young kids in their athletic pursuits in the sport of their choosing. But he’s starting with what he knows best – baseball.

On August 28th, the Marlins player finally had an opening night for the Jazz Chisholm Foundation, an organization in the works since 2021. From Robinson Canó to Felix Hernandez and Yoenis Céspedes Milanés, as well as Chisholm’s teammates, Josh Bell and Jonathan Davis starred in it. Also walking down the aisle were Miami Dolphins’ Brandon Jones, Erik Ezukanma, and Bradley Chubb, as well as Marlins prospect Ian Lewis Jr. It was a hit show that featured Chisholm himself, sporting a no. 24 ‘Mamba Forever’ jersey, honoring Kobe Bryant.
A highly successful night, it preceded the launch of the Jazz Chisholm Foundation Little League in Chisholm’s hometown of Nassau, Bahamas. The league will launch this September, with 200 boys and girls in its inaugural class. The Marlins youngster is excited to begin this new phase and couldn’t help but gush about it.

Anyone would be excited to begin such a project and for one so young as Jazz Chisholm Jr., it’s a wonderful venture. “I always wanted to give back and to make it easier for the kids to make it where I am,” he told Christina De Nicola. Then he cited rapper Snoop Dogg and his Youth Football League as inspiration for his own league.
“I don’t want the Jazz Chisholm Foundation to just be baseball alone. We’re going to start with baseball, but we’re going to get in the works with a couple of the NBA guys, a couple of the football guys, and make this a whole big-together thing,” he concluded.
