Craig Breslow, former Boston reliever, has signed the agreement with the Red Sox as their next director of baseball operations. As reported by @alexspeier, Boston?s offer to Breslow is to take over as team manager as the team attempts to recover from their third last-place campaign in the past four years. It’s worth mentioning that this would be Craig?s 2nd association with the Crimson Hose.?

Breslow’s second run with the Red Sox reflected his reliability as a relief option for Boston. While he was with the Red Sox in 2013, in 61 games, Breslow recorded a 1.81 ERA, helping Boston win the World Series. Speier pointed out that while Breslow might not have as much experience as other contenders for Bloom’s old job, Boston’s new executive does have some similarities to Rangers general manager Chris Young.
