Aaron Judge has picked up several accolades and awards following a great 2022 season. The New York Yankees star took home the AL MVP award, cementing his place amongst the Leagues’ top superstars. Judge did so, by having a career year and breaking the single-season AL home run record with 62 big ones.
Yet, there is still a big debate about where Judge places amongst the Top-5 MLB players. Most recently, he ranked second on a prestigious list, causing uproar amongst baseball fans who questioned the high ranking.

Aaron Judge was ranked second best player and caused uproar amongst fans
Every MLB player wants to be rated highly for the efforts they make to outperform themselves. Aaron Judge was recently ranked second in the top 100 MLB players right now. This comes after a historic 2022 AL MVP-winning season with the New York Yankees. MLB Network shared the news via Twitter.

In the Tweet, MLB Network said, “All Rise for the AL MVP! @Yankees Captain @TheJudge44 grabs the #2 spot on the #Top100RightNow after a historic 2022 MVP campaign.” This is a testament to the level of performance that Judge maintained, throughout the 2022 season.

But fans were unhappy with the rankings, and believed that are other players better than Judge. Many fans said that Mike Trout was better and a few even picked Bryce Harper over Judge. Other fans questioned the Yankee star’s high ranking in general.

Despite the backlash that Judge’s number 2 ranking has received, the Yankees consider him their centerpiece. They went all-out this off-season, giving their star outfielder a 9-year $360 million deal. Furthermore, Judge was named the Yankee’s newest captain. It will be interesting to see how he performs in 2023.
Judge predicted to have a difficult 2023, but he will still play well
Most sources predict that Aaron Judge will have a worse 2023 season than his 2022 year, which is not surprising. But they also say that the Yankee star will still perform exceptionally well. It will be interesting to see how Judge performs during the first year of his mega-deal, and his first season as captain.
