Little did he know that the fanboy moment would turn mutual. The Rangers just clinched a 6-5 walk-off win in Game 1 of the World Series, and Seager was instrumental in it. Needless to say, the Captain is a fan!

The Rangers shortstop’s double homers in the ninth inning tied their score to 3-3, forcing an extra inning. Joined by Adolis García ‘s heroics, the two sluggers’ tipped the hat of victory towards the team. And Derek Jeter couldn’t be more ecstatic about it.

In today’s post-game analysis with the MLB trio, the Hall of Famer revealed, “Corey Seager has become my favorite player in baseball.” He seems to be a little biased due to Seager’s position being similar to his, but he loves the way the 29-year-old carries himself. “You can tell that he’s one of the leaders of the team… He’s a champion.”
