The MLB season has reached its halfway point. Fans have experienced an eventful first half of the season as the All-Star game nears. Although excitement is building at the prospect of the Midsummer Classic, injuries have run rampant in recent days and weeks. Most recently, an Arizona Diamondbacks star suffered an injury, adding to the All-Star Game injured list.

Over the last couple of weeks, several All-Stars have suffered injuries that will keep them out of the game. This includes the likes of Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw. Furthermore, this Diamondbacks star’s injury adds to an already lengthy list as All-Star game is round the corner, concerning fans.

Arizona Diamondbacks All-Star Corbin Carroll suffers a shoulder injury

Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is having a dream of a rookie season. He has had a tremendous individual season while helping his team win games. Last month, Carroll was named an All-Star starter, achieving a massive milestone. But his participation in the Midsummer Classic may be in doubt. He injured his shoulder most recently during a game against the New York Mets. Bally Sports Arizona, shared a video of the incident on their Twitter. 

Carroll batted in the 7th inning and seemingly hurt himself while swinging for a pitch. In a Tweet, they said, “This doesn’t look good. Corbin Carroll leaves the game in visible pain after a swing.” Although the extent of the injury has not yet been confirmed, it puts Carroll’s participation in the All-Star Game into serious doubt. Of greater concern is his troubling history of right shoulder injuries.

He hurt the same shoulder in 2021, missing most of the year. He had surgery to repair a posterior capsular avulsion, and a torn labrum in that same shoulder 2 years ago. Furthermore, this is the second time in the last 10 days that the Diamondbacks rookie has exited a game because of shoulder discomfort. Rising to the occasion, fans have reacted to this potentially severe injury. 

Fans are devastated!

This latest update devastates most Diamondbacks fans. It has really put a damper on their mood. But there are fans that are hopeful of a quick recovery. Overall, some fans expressed devastation while others hoped for a quick return. 

Corbin Carroll has been a key part of their season thus far. This could be a massive blow for the Arizona Diamondbacks, depending on the severity of Carroll’s injury. Let’s hope that the injury is not severe, and he makes a swift and complete recovery, returning to the field in prime condition.
