Even though injuries can’t be predicted, no athlete wants to leave the field mid-game. The same happened with Carrol, who was at the plate and felt some pain as he left the playing field. FOX Sports: MLB shared a Twitter post reflecting upon the incident. It read, ” Corbin Carroll exited the game in the fifth inning after an apparent injury during an at-bat.”

Notably, this incident happened in the fifth innings of the game. Carroll left the field without contributing to the team’s score, which certainly put the D-Backs behind in the race to win. The game eventually finished in favor of the Rays, who also completed a series sweep over the Diamondbacks with a 7-1 win, proving their supremacy in the league this season.

Though Carroll could not score a run in this game, he has been solid since his first MLB game. In 110 games till now, the left fielder is averaging 0.284 with an OPS of 0.905. He has scored 73 runs and 21 home runs during this period, making himself a star performer. It also helped him get a $111 million deal, an eight-year contract.
