Fans make baseball great. Over the years, the sport has seen some truly amazing fan interactions and moments. There is something pure and magical about supporters interacting with their favorite superstars. Most recently, a teacher wowed fans with an amazing gesture at a New York Yankees game. She made a deal with her students involving Yankees star Anthony Rizzo’s performance that night.

The Bronx Bombers have endured a tough start to the 2023 season and have seen some tough games. But this teacher’s gesture is truly a top highlight moment of the season so far.

New York Yankees fans are a different breed. They are some of the most vocal and passionate supporters. Furthermore, they have given us some truly great moments. Most recently, a teacher watching the Yankees play live held up a really cool sign. On the sign she said that if Anthony Rizzo hit a home run during that game, she wouldn’t give her students any homework next week. Talkin’ Yanks Tweeted a picture of the teacher holding up her amazing sign.

On the sign, it says, “I told my students they wouldn’t have homework next week if Rizzo hits a home run tonight! #coolteacher”. This was such a nice way for the teacher to get her students involved in the game somehow. Furthermore, it was also motivation for Rizzo to go out and smash a big hit.

But unfortunately for the students, Rizzo did not hit a home run. To add insult to injury, the Yankees lost the game 5-2, adding to their really bad form. But fans loved the sign. Let’s have a look at some of their comments. 

What did fans have to say about the teacher’s sign?

Most fans loved the sign by the teacher. But they did not have much hope that Anthony Rizzo would hit a home run.

Some fans lauded the teacher and called her cool.

Other fans trolled Rizzo and said that he would not hit a home run.

There were even fans who commented after the game and said that the students ended up with homework after all.
